Night-time Noise Disturbance

Following reports from residents—particularly on Castleton Road—regarding night-time noise from the cement works, the Parish Council contacted Breedon.

Breedon acted immediately to investigate and resolve the issue, identifying the source as night-time refractory removal in the kiln and preheater building using a robotic breaker (Brokk).

To prevent further disruption Breedon immediately put the following measures in place:
* All robotic refractory removal during night shifts was stopped.
* High-elevation work has now been restricted to day shifts, and any low-level work will finish by 20:00.
* The broader shutdown schedule is being reviewed to identify and mitigate any other potential noise sources.

Breedon wish to apologise to the local community for the disturbance.
